What Has Blistered and Bloodied Your Hands?

🌟 Mom Moment! 🌟

What has blistered and bloodied your hands?

A special detail that touched my Mom’s heart is looking at my son Christian’s hands. (Swipe ➡️ to see the beautiful engagement photos of my son Christian and Vycktoria, and you’ll understand why many people are in awe of their love story.)

Life is filled with moments of intense emotion and joy, like engagements, where we remember big highlights and happy endings. Yet, we often overlook the hard work and sacrifice that goes into creating unforgettable moments.

Months before this heart-melting day, Christian’s journey to prepare showed dedication and “unseen effort” – except by those of us working with him. As a mom, I watched Christian work two jobs – from dawn till dusk, and pour his heart into preparing for a moment that would surprise, bless, and honor the love of his life. Late into the night, he spent time preparing his land, perfecting every detail, asking for help where he needed it…yet also watching the hours invested in prayer over this life-changing decision melted my heart even more. Instead of expecting glory and praise, each night he came home deliriously tired with “nothing but” a hole in the ground he was digging on the site of his future home…and bloodied hands. As a mom, I would grab ahold of his hands and say, “THAT, Son, is love. WOW. THAT says it all.” In our family, we often cheer on our amazing men by saying, “That’s how a real man does it.” And once again, this anthem of honor was given.

Two things struck my Mom heart in this. #1 I feel honored to know I am surrounded by true men, like my son. (Tears!) #2 His hands, a profound metaphor, hold meaning for us all. They remind us of all of you working tirelessly in “unseen efforts” for a promise that seems far away. Your efforts might leave you feeling like all you were left with is a “hole in the ground” and “bloodied hands.” Can you relate?

If you can, hear me say to you, as a Spiritual Mom, “THAT, my son and daughter, is love. THAT, my son and daughter, is how a real man and woman does it.”

I want to hear what you hear. Allow me to speak life into your blistered and bloodied souls today. I am here to celebrate you.
